Choosing the right chassis is the first decision that shapes every build that follows. Whether you're sourcing a new truck from a dealer or bringing in a used cab and chassis, the right starting point makes everything downstream — wheels, fenders, lift, axles — work the way it should.
What to Look For
- Year: 2017 or newer for current DBL conversion compatibility.
- Configuration: Pick-up, cab and chassis, and 60" CA all have different parts paths — confirm before ordering.
- Weight rating: Match the chassis GVWR to how you plan to use the truck — armor, camper, hauling, or fleet duty.
- Drivetrain: Verify axle and gear specs so they pair correctly with our 6:17 gears, lockers, and Pro 80 front axle options.
